First rule of Business before you see any HPLC - keep the following points in mind

• Ethnicity

• Geography

• Age (pregnancy , partner screening becomes important if young)

• Where has the sample come from (antenatal, emergency department )

• Do i need to see a blood film as well with this HPLC (like HbH , HbE etc )

Now lets look at this HPLC

A - Zero = 17.5 %

A2 = 7.2%

S Window= 64%

F=9.7%
